cards in issue in 2009 – 58.1 million credit cards,
6.4 million charge cards, 79.3 million debit cards,
18.5 million ATM-only cards and 0.4 million standalone
cheque guarantee cards.
This means that based on the population of the UK,
each personal cardholder has 2.1 credit or charge
cards.
